The month of January

Given that it's May 31 and there isn't one, no not one, single post for the year after the "I'm getting my booty in gear with the blogging" post,  I have just resolved to keep a log of the memorable moments of each month and catch up as I can. What can I say, it's a work in progress.

Notes for January 2012 ( Mostly Carson moments)

• Carson's first Houston Zoo trip complete with multiple train rides. The child would be happy riding that train for hours on end, Mommy...not so much.) Brandi Brown joined us on our zoo adventure and I was thrilled to hear that she's having a BABY! Due date is July 6th!
• Sweet boy is getting really good at sentence structure and speaking in the correct person (I vs. You)  Case in point: I would say to him "You've got your train." and he would just repeat that phrase if he had his train, haha. Now, the phrase has graduated to "I got my train". Bravo, Carson! 
• Pointed to the question mark sign on the Ipad keyboard and exclaimed" Mommy, there's the mouseketool!" The results of lots of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse right there. 
• He's been requesting my company at bedtime for the past several nights. The specific dialogue is "Mommy, you need to lay down" and then he wraps those sweet arms tightly around my neck and all is right in the world again. 
• Learning to count the number of items, instead of just counting for the sake of repetition. 
• January 22, 2012 - First Carson initiated " I love you". Melted my heart to mush. 

Every single day with my guys is a blessing. 

Life just goes - A flashback to the fall/winter 2011

Wow, so much for my resolution to blog more often (and actually keep an adequate timeline of our year) around the Rose house.
I just can't believe my sweet baby boy is almost 2 years and 9 months old!! "Plleeeeaaase, stop growing up so fast!" I don't need you to be any more self sufficient than you are at this very moment.

Until I get back on the blogging train, here are a few pics to highlight the past six months of this blessed life of mine.

Some of the memories/milestones to note:

November 2011
- We had a case of nurse's elbow. Yep, it happened. Horrifying moment for me to see my boy in pain. The doc got him fixed up that same day by lunch and by dinner, he was feeding french fries to his teddy.

December 2011
- 3 am wake up call - I go to calm down the whining kiddo and he starts rambling about requests for french fries ( a fav at the moment), trains ( also a fave), and kolaches. Of all the things, ha! The moment passed and he was back to sleep in seconds.
- Saw Christmas lights to which he responds" whoa, cool." At 2 years old? Crazy stuff I tell ya.
- Instead of a "yes" or "no" response to questions, we get the diplomatic "ok".

Sadly, it's been far too long since I posted and there's so much that has happened. so many fun times and unforgettable memories made. My resolution for the new year is to share more of them here. Even if no one reads this blog but me, it will be worth it to keep the memories alive in a digital form.
